Hailey Kinsel Lockwood
Hailey Kinsel is a barrel racer who means business and is committed to her sport, her horses, and her faith. Despite her incredible accomplishments – like holding the arena record at Calgary Stampede, claiming the 2018 World Champion Barrel Racing title, and taking the RFD-TVs The American Barrel Racing Champion title twice, in 2017 and 2019 – Hailey remains humble and continues to push herself and her horses. We’re proud to support Hailey – and now recently the new Mrs. Lockwood (in 2019 she married Jess Lockwood, a Professional Bull Rider and fellow YETI Ambassador) in her work.

Q:

What goes through your head when you first wake up in the morning?

A:

I thank God for the ability to do what I love and ride good horses.

Q:

Where is your favorite place to ride?

A:

Thomas & Mack during the NFR, and the Calgary Stampede.

Q:

How do you up your game year after year?

A:

I always strive to be better than I was yesterday as a person, follower of Christ, competitor, and trainer.

Q:

Who are your heroes? Who do you look up to?

A:

My mom, Sherry Cervi, and Lisa Lockhart.

Q:

What part of you, or what you do, reflects a spirit of restlessness?

A:

I cannot comfortably go a day without riding. The more I ride, the more often I give myself or my horses the chance to improve.

Q:

What are the 3 most essential things you need for your category?

A:

A great horse, mental toughness, and wisdom to plan and make decisions for your horses.

Q:

If you could bring anybody in the world with you to do what you love (dead or alive), who would be?

A:

My grandmother who passed away a few years ago, Samie Walker. She was one of my best friends and biggest fans, and I think I got my personality from her.

Q:

What does YETI mean to you?

A:

YETI embodies the spirit I try to bring to the table not only when I compete, but every day in preparation, strength, and perfection.
